Day 6 (6/24)—Tainan

We got up this morning and did our usual stuff. There were quite a few good deals at the market today. We were drawn to anything that's NT$100 (~US$3.00)—bags, clothes, jewelry. Ah-gong made us yummy noodles for lunch! I know his secret sauce now (he showed me the can ;o)), I think I can make it back in the States.

We got on the high speed rail for Tainan. Evan got his own seat this time and took a pretty decent nap. It was raining when we got here. We're staying at the Evergreen Plaza Hotel in Tainan. It's pretty nice. There's a department store right across the street. There's a children's play area on the 6th floor. Evan got to play a few games. There's also a children's book store, and I went a little nuts there which I may regret later since books are so heavy. But they're educational and bilingual!

We walked over to a nearby restaurant for dinner. Afterwards Hubby and I took Evan down to the pool area. The sky was already dark and it was a bit windy. We played a bit until the last time Evan ran after I kept asking him not the run (he had fell on his butt in the lobby once already). It was getting a bit cold anyway, so we head up to enjoy the shower/bath. Aahhhh… finally, a decent shower! It's wonderful! I'm taking another shower in the morning!

I guess I should be nervous about tomorrow, the "Gotcha Day." But with all the other stuff, like taking care of Evan, it's almost not first and foremost in my mind right now. I'm sure I'll get nervous tomorrow. I know our lives are going to change again. I hope I can handle it.

Looks who's stayed here before, 三姐!!

Pikachoo and Charmander!

Whack a mole, or rather, whack a frog.

Hubby has cat-like reflexes!

Funny, this is the first time I have seen your photo in years, you look like your Dad a few (lol) years ago.

  2. Is that plate for sale? :-) I thought (at the first glance) that was a "Shanmoo" coming out of pool to Evan. Don't forget to use those money in the book store. I enjoy your post very much.

  4. The hotel looks really nice! Along with the bookstore and the pool and the arcade-looking place, you don't need to go into the heat! Good luck with Emma today!
