(We have Internet! We finally got a mobile access point. We're connected to the world again. It's actually day 4 now, I have a bit of catching up to do.)
Evan did well on the plane. He had a window seat, had fun watching the plane taxi and take off. Hubby sat next to him while I sat in front of them with Sis. He made himself at home sitting criss-cross apple sauce, headphones on, watching cartoons, and munching on this and that. Hubby said he pretty much ate the entire flight. He did get a bit confused when we had to close the windows to go nite nite when it was light outside, and then we were having breakfast when it was pitch black out. He started getting a bit antsy about two hours out, kept asking, "Us here?" While we were deplaning, he almost left his "jin" in his seat! Fortunately, a good samaritan noticed and handed it to us. It would've been disastrous if he lost that most precious possession of his in the whole world. It was almost midnight when we got to Taiwan but it was still 82º! Ugh!
First order of business in the morning was to go have Chinese breakfast of sweet (or savory) soy milk with various buns and pancake type things. For some reason, maybe out of habit, I ordered hot soy milk for myself. My Jazzercise buddies know how much of a sweater I am. Immediately, the collar of my shirt was soaked down to about 4 inches! So embarrassing. Ladies aren't supposed to sweat, they glisten. We walked through the market a little bit. For lunch, Ah-gong took us to Hizenya, a very popular Japanese restaurant that specialized in eel rice. Evan loved it. He ate just about the entire thing! We then walked over the the Mizukoshi Department store and had smoothies, then went up to the 6th floor children's section. The expression on Evan's face when he stepped out of the elevator was priceless. It was like the kids walking in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. In the evening, we took the bus to go have oyster omelet, our favorite. The placed closed for several weeks in the Spring because of some scandals between the owner and his wife. Everyone was waiting anxiously to see if it would reopen. We're so glad they did. Business is good as ever. We let Evan play this pinball type game, sort of a gambling game. He got the hang of it after a while and kept winning even when we were trying to lose so we could get out of there. Grandma would be proud.
Several hours later, the flight seemed to be taking a bit of a toll on Hubby. Thanks to the guy behind him who kept putting his stinky bare feet in between the seats, Hubby didn't get much sleep. Evan's still happy though.

Oyster Omelet!
Evan's not into oyster omelet. But that's ok, more for us!
He likes shaved ice though!
