Ah-gong and Sis have been very diligent, getting up early each morning to go exercise chi gong at the park (including walking to and from the park—20 to 30 minutes each way). Judging by how sweaty I got last Fall when I went to do chi gong, I would be a mighty messy puddle if I went. So Hubby, Evan, and I stay home and hang out a bit.
The sky was clear and sun was out this morning, which meant it was steaming hot! This morning we went to both markets again. We had cold noodles in peanut sauce which Evan enjoyed pretty well. We were going to bring home a variety of dishes to enjoy at home. Evan got a bit wilted in the heat and we soon headed home. Chocolate milk helped keep him upright till we got back to Ah-gong's house. Then it's nap time for him and Hubby.
A nice big thunderstorm came in in the afternoon. Evan had not been in a storm like that and was a bit unnerved by the lightning and thunder at first. He was fine after a while. He entertained us with a "magic show," using any little thing he could put into Baba's hat (and still go on his head) and a straw for his "special wand." He actually dragged 4 dinning chairs over to the living room and gave each of us assigned seats. The magic show is pretty goofy and usually end up as the butt dance (sigh… eye roll), and he giggles himself silly.
I have to say something about the evil shower here at Ah-gong's house. We're not sure what exactly is wrong with the showers, but the water temperature would go from freezing cold to scalding hot without any reason. Once you hit a good temperature, you have to rinse quickly before it would change completely. It makes for fast showers. We think it might be possessed by the water-conservation ghost. I've ran baths for Evan, thinking if it swings from hot to cold and vice versa, maybe a full tub would even itself out. Well, it came out cold. So I've resorted to getting hot water from the sink. I'm looking forward to nice long showers at the hotel in Tainan tomorrow.
Evan and Baba's favorite pastime, videogames.
Another favorite pastime.
Yummy food from the morning market.
Second magic show. We talked him out of making us sit in assigned seats.
