Day 10 (6/28)--Heading Home

It's been a long day today, literally. A 39-hour June 28th, actually, between Taiwan and LA (who says there's only 24 hours in a day?). We packed our stuff up, helped shut down Ah-gong's house, and left for the airport at 2:30 in the afternoon. Evan and Emma were so excited! They bounced all over the place at the airport and cuddled (sort of) Ah-gong on the nice comfy lounge. The hours went by so quickly, we only got to look through a couple of the gift shops (it's like a mall at the airport!).

The flight went fairly smoothly. I gave Emma the airsickness pill as instructed by her foster mom. She watched a couple episodes of Hello Kitty, ate a couple bites of rice (no appetite for airplane food, can't say I blame her), and fell asleep for the rest of the flight. Evan did well too, sitting with Hubby again. Immigration didn't take long at all this time (a nice surprise) and we got out of the airport fairly quickly. Traffic home from the airport was heavy though. It took us about 1-1/2 hours, I think. We went to get pho with Ah-ma and Ah-gong. Ah-ma brought little gifts to bribe Emma and Evan, and they worked.

When we finally got home, there was so much to do, but we had to get the little ones settled in first. We tried to get them to bed at around 10, but they were wide awake. So we played this and that. We were playing playdoh till almost midnight. Yikes! Finally sent them off to bed… well, some of us are getting sleep. Let's just say jet lag, together with grieving, makes for a recipe for sleepless nights. I wonder how long this will last and will I survive?
