Emma participated in her first dance recital. I don’t know how those “dance moms” do it. It’s quite a commitment, and a big ordeal. You pay to participate, pay for the costume, buy the required dance slippers and tights, AND pay to see the show. This is on top of the regular lessons these kids take. I told hubby this is mostly likely our first and last dance recital, so we’ll take lots of pictures to document this.
At the dress rehearsal.
Ms. Helen’s daughter. She’s a first grader.
Evan was popular with an iPad.
Tinsel grass skirt. Whose bright idea was that?!
This is like something out of “Girls Gone Wild.” Yikes!
Hubby somehow got drafted to be a parent helper back stage. He and another parent had to keep 9 little girls entertained for about 3 hours before they got to go on stage, all in the crowded, little gym at Lakewood High School. After hanging out at the gym a couple hours, there wasn’t much tinsel left on the grass skirts. Other dance troops had fun picking them up and playing with them though.
Grandma and Grandpa came to see the show.
Emma is the 2nd one from the right. She did very well overall.
Good job, girl!
