We have two 5-year-olds in the house now! Oh, boy! But only for a few months. Evan will be turning six soon. Sometimes strangers would ask us how old the kids were. We would tell them how old they were and that they're 8 months apart. Then you could see the wheels turning in the their heads and a question mark over their faces. They're wondering how we managed to have two kids so close in age. Hehehe… They're Irish Twins! I don't usually explain unless they really seem interested. Explaining seems to invite more questions, personal ones, especially with Asian people.
Emma was sooooo excited for her birthday! We brought in cupcakes and goodie bags for her classmates at school. They did this thing where the birthday child holds a globe and walks around the mat with all the months of the year, stopping at each of her age year. We shared a picture and a few words about what she was doing at age 1, age 2, etc. Good thing the foster mom gave us a bunch of pictures. Her teachers and classmates got to see what she looked like when she was younger.
Then she passed out goodie bags to her classmates and they all ate cupcakes.
Kylin is so cute!
Rolling up the Montessori mat. The kids are taught well to clean up although sometimes they still need reminding.
We booked a bounce house facility for her big birthday party. It's the same place we had Evan's 5th birthday party. He remembered the place when we pulled up to the parking lot. Everyone had lots of fun, especially Hubby in the "Beach Ball" room with all the nerf ball shooting air guns!
Pizza, chips, and cake!! All you can eat junk food. What's not to love?!
Happy Birthday, Baby Girl!
Can you tell somebody else wanted some attention?
We didn't get back from the bounce-house place till late so she did not get to open her presents till the next day. She was about to burst with excitement! Evan felt a little left out after the party, so we told him he could pick a box of Legos from Christmas to play with. So he was bursting with excitement too!
Look at all the presents!
They played with Legos all afternoon. Hubby helped them build their Lego sets themselves by following the instructions. We hope that by putting in the hard work themselves, they would appreciate it more. A while ago, Evan and Emma were playing with a police station set that Hubby had put together. They pretended they were monster babies and tore the set apart! Hubby was NOT happy. Hopefully, now they'd have second thought about destroying someone's hard work.
Attempting to write "Happy Birthday." ;o)
We went to Applebees for lunch, where the waiters and waitresses came to sing for Emma and wish her happy birthday with a piece of brownie cake and ice-cream, which she shared with Evan.
Yet another birthday celebration! This time at Grandpa and Grandma's house.
WOW!!! A NEW BIKE!!!!
She's so happy! Thank you Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Robert!
