End of Summer

Well, time flies when you're goofing off! I'm heading back to work. I'm a bit embarrassed that I've taken so much time off. Technically, I could've gone back to work sooner since they've both been in school. It's been very nice to be able to be there for both Evan and Emma. I don't mean "nice" as in always fun and relaxing and enjoyable. Actually, it's been plenty stressful. But I am so grateful to have had this time to build a relationship, hopefully a good, solid foundation as we go on as a family. Thank you, Keith and all my fellow co-workers for allowing me to do this!! We've gone through a boatload of medical and dental appointments in the last months that I couldn't have gotten done very easily if I had been working. I remember the one day when I had to deal with the dentist office, the anesthesiologist, the pediatrician, 3 different cardiologists, and 3 different phone numbers with the insurance, all just to try to get Emma's big IV sedation dental work done on schedule! Just thinking about it makes my stomach hurt! I'm trying to get as much done before going back to work. Hopefully, not much else will crop up.

Evan has started his kindergarten class this morning. He had been very excited to go to the Gold Room, but got cold feet as we were getting to school. He wanted to stay in his old classroom. And Emma tried to cling to me as she usually does when I drop her off. I'm sure they will be ok. Education is not an option. They'll have to get used to it and hopefully do well!

First day of kindergarten

We've been having lots of fun this summer! Here are lots of pictures!

Hanging out with all the cousins! Both Evan and Emma love cousin Raymond!

Crazy dress day at school. Baba picked out this frilly tutu number.

Crazy hair day at school. Can you tell I'm sort of going for the "Nihao Kailan" look?

The "not-getting-my-way" crying never flies with mama.

The next shot he's laughing again.

Playing together—there's some of that… about 20% of the time. The other 80% they're either bickering, squabbling, or ignoring each other.

Their favorite part about visiting the Iowa is playing with the water fountain.

Blue enjoying a nice beef rib! Thanks, ah-gong and ah-ma!
