I had to go get refingerprinted again! When we did the first round of prints in 2009, I had to get fingerprinted twice because my prints were so bad. Got rejected both times, then I had to go get a police clearance letter. Now for the renewal, I get to do it all over again. And since our adoption is getting pretty close, after I get printed today, our agency is going to ask CIS to "expedite my rejection" (that just sounds weird). Anyway, then I'll have to go get another police clearance letter. Then I think we'll be all set to travel when we get the call.
Besides the fingerprint renewal, we've got yet another checklist from our agency with documents we will need to have ready before travel. It's nothing like the original homestudy paper chase that we had to do. Not even close. But having been off the groove for a while, I've been finding it hard to get back into it, filling out forms, making phone calls, etc, etc. It's almost like I subconsciously remember how "not fun" it was, that I'm just procrastinating. We will get it done though… somehow.
For now, I'm trying not to have any expectation of when we'd travel, where we'd go (to tour or not to tour), and how things will be. It's been hard, especially when I wake up at 2 am my mind swirling with this worry and that anxiety. With the support of my wonderful sisters and maybe a little bit of meditation (oops, almost typed medication.. haha), I will endeavor to let go of trying to control things and surrender to the process. Ohmm…..
