I know it's been a while, but things got busy at home and at work. But I wanted to post Evan's reaction when I came home.
I got back late at night, so Evan did not get to see me until morning. When I went to wake him up, he opened one sleepy eye and saw me, gave me a sleepy smile and said with sleep-hoarse voice, "Present." Then he jumped off the bed to turn on his light and went to his bookshelf to get a little drawing he had made for me. It's a picture of Mama, Baba, and Evan!
He wasn't drawing stick figures before I left, so this was pretty impressive. He also made another little milestone while I was gone. Before I left, he wouldn't get out of bed when he wakes up in the morning for whatever reason. He was just sit in his bed and holler. We tried to encourage him to get out of bed by himself and going potty. We even "rehearsed" it, jump off bed, open door, bathroom across the hall with nightlight on, etc, etc. We even gave him incentive that when he goes potty in the morning by himself the first time, Baba would take him to the toy store to pick out a big toy. It still didn't happen until I went on my trip. He went to potty all by himself!! Yay!!! Maybe I should take off more often so he would meet more milestones. ;o)
The countdown calendar.
Evan is very into playing pretend these days. He likes to assign superhero roles to everyone. I don't know why I got assigned the role of "The Hulk." I guess he knows ya just don't wanna make Mama mad.
