Making Friends

Evan is making friends at school!! What a relief! His first little friend was Abigail, an adorable, tiny little blond girl. Evan can't say the "k" or "g" sound yet, so he calls her "Abidail." He looked forward to playing with her on the days when she's there. Almost made him think twice about going to Grandpa/Grandma's house on Fridays… almost. They would hold hands and play together. Very cute! Then just the last couple of months or so, he made another friend. His name is Anthony, a little boy with cute brown curls. Evan loved to play with him and would ask to share his "Ah-ma's crackers" with him every morning. He would say, rather emphatically, "share Anthony, no Abidail!" They would, reportedly, go to the potty together, sitting side-by-side and talk while doing their business.  I don't know what happened that Abigail loss favor. Then just in the last couple of days, he's gone back to favoring Abigail more, wanting to share his crackers with her instead. So now I'm having to bring rice cracker for all 3 of them. The most recent development is that he doesn't want to share with anyone (but he has to anyway cuz mama says so). Fickle child!

The other day, the teacher reported that some kid pushed Anthony down. Evan went over and pushed the pusher kid down and told him "No push Anthony!" Evan is quite a bit bigger than the other kids in class, so hopefully they won't try to mess with him (although he has been bitten a few times). Just as long as he doesn't grow up to be a bully.

I suppose some words/phrases are just more fun to learn and easy to pick up. Evan likes saying "Waaassuuup!" and "Tru dat!"

Uncle Mike (or as Evan says it, "Undoh Mai") came out to visit from Wisconsin. Evan had so much fun playing with him. He especially loved being allowed to play with Undoh Mai's iPod, loved putting it in his pocket and be cool like that.

We finally finished the readopting process. Why didn't anybody look at my camera?! I think "Undoh Mai" has better pictures.

Grandma treated everyone to Rainforest Cafe afterwards. Evan was terrified of the gorillas. He even cried. It got a little better after a while, but he wasn't gonna sit next to them, better they get Grandma and Uncle Robert first. He was worried about the crocodile outside. He made sure that everybody stayed far away from it.

A little volcano made it all better!
